Advertisement for the direct recruitment for class-3 posts in Gujarat Police Force with total vacant post of 17532 was issued by the Chairman, Lokrakshak Recruitment Board and the Inspector General of Police, Vadodara Range, Vadodara vide Advertisement no. LRB/201617/1, dated 01/07/2016 in which the total number of vacanciesare as follows

The written exam was conducted on 23/10/2016 and the physical Tests (PET/PST) were conducted from 16/1/17 to 11/2/17, after which total 34,586 candidates were called for documentation verification as per their merit. Out of which, total 33,718 candidates remained present for the document Verification. After the completion of the document verification a Provisional Select List was uploaded on the LRB website on 05/04/2017. The candidates were asked to make representationif any, regarding the provisional Select List/ Waiting List by 12/04/2017.

The final Select/Waiting List has been prepared after making necessary changes in the Provisional Select/Waiting List on the basis of the representations made by the candidates and the document re-verification done as per the rules.The cut off marks and Date of Birth of eligible candidates for the final SelectList are as follows  |
Note:Total 41 Ex-Servicemen has been select for the Final Select List of candidates which includes 16 Ex-Servicemen for Unarmed Police Constable cadre, 04 Ex-Servicemen for Armed Police Constable cadre, 01 Ex-Servicemen for Jail Sepoy cadre and 20 Ex-Servicemen for SRPF Constable cadre as decide by the Lokrakshak Recruitment Board as per provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services (Reservation of Vacancies for Ex-Servicemen in class-III and class IV Posts and service) Rules,1975.

Those SC/ST/SEBC Category candidates who have not availed the benefit of the relaxations in age limit/height (as is available for such SC/ST/SEBC candidate), and if such SC/ST/SEBC candidates come in the General category merit list on the basis of his/her marks, such SC/ST/SEBC candidates have been counted in the General category as per the rules.

The Provisional Select List/ Waiting List has been prepared on the basis of Government of Gujarat, General Administrative Departmentcircular No.CPR/102005/1277/G-2 dated 11/10/2005 and the decision taken by the Lokrakshak Recruitment Board regarding a situation where two or more candidates get equal marks, the seniority shall be decided on the basis of the following criteria:

| a) | The candidate who is a sportsperson is to be given the priority and counted as senior, for the purpose of the Select/Waiting List |
| b) | In a case where the candidates have got equal marks, the candidate who is older in age as per the date of birth will be counted as Senior. |
| c) | In cases, where if the date of birth of such candidates is also same, then a candidate with more height is counted as Senior in the merit list. |
| d) | In cases, where the height of candidates is also equal, the seniority in such cases is decided on the basis of their class XII marks. |

All the successful candidates for the Final Select/Waiting List have been allotted Unarmed Police Constable(UPC) cadre, Armed Police Constable(APC) cadre, SRP Constable cadre, Jail Sepoy (Male) and Jail Sepoy (Female) cadre as per their total marks. A cadre-wise list (total 10 lists) will be prepared and printed and will be sent to the Director General and Inspector General of Police , Gujarat State, Gandhinagar. On the basis of such cadre wise final list, the selected candidates will be allotted districts/cities and the further process of appointment shall be done by the DGP office.

The Lokrakshak Recruitment Board does not allot district/city posting to the selected candidates. Therefore all the successful candidates are informed not to make any kind of inquiriesregarding their district appointment order or their district/ city allotment choices or their medical test etc. before the board.
